Any news about black E2C Adaptors?
Any news about black E2C Adaptors?
E2C adapters may not work with the P60 style drop in's. I am using DSpeck E2C adapters and my drop in's do not work. I has to do with the anodizing inside the adapter. Better to have bare aluminum on the inside of the adapter for good electrical contact. I am not sure if Bogus1's would work. Maybe he can chime in? Possibly try one out with a drop in?

I have one of the HA Nat E2C from TnC and it seems to work fine with my DX drop in. The electrical connection is made with the top of the E1 body.
I've used E2C's from DSpeck, TnC and Vital Gear with no problems. Some drop-ins have taken a little fiddling to work, but nothing significant - usually just a question of outside spring, modded outside spring or no outside spring required to make contact with the top of the body. It's no different than getting most third party drop-ins to work in one of the Nitrolon-bodied lights.
The black E2Cs just need to be anodized so I should be selling those again within a few weeks.
The finned adaptors will take more time. The shop is so busy I can't give any kind of estimate.
acourvil,
I'm sorry, we looked and we don't even have a black 18650 tube for personal use. Due to the making required on the tubes it will be a while before we would put these out there again.
I just stocked a small number of E2C adaptors in our store in the links listed below.
TnC E2C E series tube to C Series Head Adaptor [HA Olive-Drab]
TnC E2C E series Surefire tube to C Series Head Adaptor [Black]
I got mine today, and I am soo happy about it!!
Quality is superb!!
Thanks!![]()
The urge for light is strong today....
The D26/P60 drop-ins work, with all bodies, with this E2C adapter.
Some drop-ins/bulbs might be a little too short to make contact with the upper rim of the body when everything is scewed tight down, and don't make proper contact there, and no light.
The body too might be a little too short on the threaded area.
What you need is a shim that fits along the outer ring of the bottom of the bulb, and on top of the rim on the body.
Fivemega ships these shims together with his D26 sockets/reflectors, but any thin shim fitting here, or a ring made of some metal thread, will make the contact and make it work!
I made that comment two months ago. Since then I have been using my E2C with various drop ins with success. Not sure why I had a problem previously. I do notice that some drops ins will not seat as deep using my (dspeck) E2C compared to using them in a standard C series body.

I'd like one in black HA

Unfortunately, that link ends up at the HA Olive-Drab coated one. Oddly, I don't own a single olive drab light.I'll end up dropping it in the backyard and never find it again.
Thanks for the heads up though. I just wish Zen Cart could do a "filter by what is in stock" view. Would make browsing all of the out of stock stuff I want far less frustrating.
This search gets you to the three E2C converters they have in the shop, though two of them are OOS at the moment.
I have one of all of these, and the Olive drab is more dull and grey than the Natural.
The Natural is closer to the Aleph Natural color, a little golden and shiny.
The Olive drab is closer to the Surefire Natural color.
Anyone know where there is an E2C adaptor to be found? Of any make or model? I haven't fond one after 2 days of googling.

Hi guys,
Sorry for the long delay posting. Life has been crazy. We are working on both NAT and Black E2Cs with both fins and no fins (original TnC design). If you guys prefer the Olive Drab then please let me know. I'll try to have these completed around the end of this year or beginning of next.
Put me down for 2 OD e2c adapters.
