Hi, why don't you email them directly? There's no tax or customs fee. The Crossfire on techlasers.com is the same laser you see on laserglow and novalasers. They're manufactured by the same factory in China. It's just laserglow is trying to make more of your money. Good luck! 
I have tested some of their lasers, the "Crossfire" series would appear to definately be a CNI built laser, though it is modified to take a 3.6V rechargable lithium battery (better then 2x C cells).
I'm in Canada, not the US, but I've had no issue ever receiving lasers through customs. I've never had to pay any duty fees either, as they usually mark it at a low value. The US might be a bit more strict, but I don't beleive you will have an issue.
