I have this MCP spotlight with 6v 55w H3 bulb, i already have 12v automotif ballast and the bulb rated at 35watts. I am planning to use 18650 protected pack. What is the safest 18650 pack for this purpose. I was thingking that in total the whole sistem will draw around 42watts which means 3.5Amps from the battery hence 18650 in 3S2P(11.1v 4400mah) would be enough? or 4S2P is better suited for the task.

thanks.

If you use cells that are 2,000 mAh then you can pull 4 amps from them and still be within the 2C safety limit. So the "safest" cell configuration depends on the capacity of the cells you are using. Also, bear in mind there will be some voltage drop... you will have to do some experimenting with a volt meter to see how much voltage and current are actually making it to the ballast.
