Default Rechargable RC123 in a Peak Glacier Bay P4?

Thanks to the ever so kind and generous MikeLip, I've got a Peak Glacier Bay as a christmas gift on my way.

Now I was just wondering if anyone here know if it's possible to run it on a 3.7 RC123? Peaks website isn't that informative, and they don't seem to respond on mail, and it's a bit of an hazzle to call from Sweden(time difference and all) so I would be ever so grateful if anyone here would know the answere.
    Cheers.

I just want to say that I'll watch this forums closely a long time, so don't be afraid to answere if you think the post is too old!
    Thanks in advance.

Seems to be REALLY hard to get info about Peak. The site is a wreck(allthough their pictures are pretty nice) and they don't answere on emails. Calling seems to be the only way, but it's a pain doing it overseas.

But thanks for the info though, looks like the same goes for the Glacier Bay if I look at the older version.

The website is very little help. I don't know how they can survive with that site.

I asked Peak a similar question about using the 3.7v cell that came with my 2005 CPF Special [Rainier model] in my McKinley and they responded that it would be OK, but that it would not offer any advantages. When I put it in the light was only marginally brighter, but it got much warmer than with a 3.0v battery. I now use 3.0v rechargables in it, which I got from BatteryJunction. They work well.

I'm also wondering how they can survive with that site, it's almost entirely useless. And they seem to have a lot of good lights that a lot of CPFrs would want if they knew that they were available.
Are they doing so well that they don't need to pursue internet buyers?

They you get an answere by mail or phone? I've mailed them twice, by they haven't replied yet...

I can't recall if I PM'ed Robyn or emailed her or emailed Peak. I'll check - but I had to reinstall Windows [surprise] and lost a lot of old email. I think you will usually get an answer to email, but not always right away.

Thanks for the info. I think I emailed Peak about a week ago, but they haven't answered. I realize a week isnt that long time(allthough I've been spoiled by fast replies lately), but I'm gonna try PM and mail Robyn.

I just gave up on trying to get any useful information from their website. The lights are organized by geographic landmarks, not function or output. Moreover, output isn't reported in lumens or lux. I too was unable to determine if any of their lights can run on rechargeables. Most of the Chinese websites are more useful!

On the other hand, if you CALL THEM they are among the most helpful people to talk to in the industry. Since they seem to be about making near custom spec'ed lights for non-custom prices, it is hard for them to list every option/permutation on their site [although, granted - it could be better].

Ooo Re: Rechargable RC123 in a Peak Glacier Bay P4?

No, the Glacier Bay (lower power version of the Caribbean) will not survive the 3.7V rechargeable with an OCV of over 4V You should only use 3.0V RC123's which has open circuit voltage of 3.2V, or 3.0V disposables

However, the Caribbean (higher power version of the Glacier Bay) of exactly the same built can be operated on 3.7V batteries without damage since it uses a different electronics regulator circuit.

See "Caribbean and McKinley via rechargeable" on page 4.

Sorry that I did not include the link as it's against the forum rulesand modulators will close it

Hi everyone. I'm new into flashlights and will appreciate any help or guide on an appropriate charger one can travel with, for the CR123 3.0 batteries.

I just purchased a Fenix T1 and am delighted by its dazzling LED blast and will be adding more holsters to the line up for sure...

    Thanks in advance.
