I purchased some GITD sand from Glow Inc, and am curious if it is OK to put in a fishtank? Any harm to the fish? I assume this is "Alkaline E. M. Aluminate" and the 'alkaline' part has me wondering if it would mess with the pH of the tank?

It will slowly dissolve and kill your fish. Depending on how much you like your fish, this may or may not be a problem. But more importantly, you lose your glow.

Glow in the Dark Rocks, also available from your friendly Glow Inc. dealer, should be alright in fish tanks.

 Great answer! Yes, I'm rather fond of my fish AND my glow sand, so I'll keep them separated. Thanks!

Maybe if you put the sand in, and then sealed it with liberal coats of some short of epoxy or waterproof coating, could look really cool.
