I'm ready to order some AW rechargeable batteries but I have some important questions some of you "Wiz Kids" might be able to answer for this aging, relative newcomer, flashaholic (about a year now).

**Can I use either the AW 17670 or 2 X AW 3.6 RCR123's in a SF E2L?

**What rechargeables can I use in a SF L1 and L2 and U2 Ultra?
Will AW 3.0 v, protected, RCR123's damage the SF L1, L2, or U2 Ultra?

**Will I be safe using the AW 2 X17500, rechargeables in my SF 9P with the LF EO-9 bulb?

I just got my U2 today. It came with an 18650 and charger.

Anything I NEED to know about this with the U2 would be great.

I've got a brand new U2, as well, and am looking for a rechargeable solution for it. Did you buy your U2 used, and did the prior owner successfully run it with the 18650's? I'll be interested to hear how your experience with that combo works. Would you mind PMing me with your progress? I'll PM you with anything I learn re the U2 and advice I get.
Thanks a bunch.
Good luck, and enjoy it.

a pair of RCR123s and a lumensFactory EO-E2R will work great. You need an after-market bulb to run the rechargeables, the stock lamp will blow on 2xRCR123s and be very dim on 1x17670.

what rechargeables can I use in a SF L1 and L2 and U2 Ultra?
Will AW 3.0 v, protected, RCR123's damage the SF L1, L2, or U2 Ultra

L1: no clue, probably best bet is going to be a 3.0V LiFeP04 cell. which suffers from drastically reduced capacity.. I seem to recall someone saying they have used 3.7V cells in it, but that it might overdrive it pretty hard..

L2: I think most people are using either a 14670 or 17670 depending on how tight the fit is.

U2: Older U2's had room for an 18650, then they installed a plastic sleeve in an attempt to increase sales of CR123s (or maybe to reduce rattling of CR123s, pick your poison)... then they started manufacturing the tubes smaller without a removable sleeve at all..... So you'll need to figure out what you have. If old, you might be able to take advantage of the huge runtime of a 18650, if newer, you may be stuch with a 17670.

Will I be safe using the AW 2 X17500, rechargeables in my SF 9P with the LF EO-9 bulb?
Yes, the EO-9 is right at the limit of the 17500s but it is still considered safe. Expect ~30 minutes of runtime.

Your E2L may or may not fit the 17670s. Mine does not but others have been luckier.
