If you look at my review here, you'll see output is the same on 1xRCR or 2xNiMH: Fenix L2D Q5 vs R100, R80, Q2, P4 Comparison Review: RUNTIMES+ 14500 should be same as RCR, given same voltage. And in fact, if you look at my NiteCore review (in my sig), you'll see the Q5 head on L1D body with 14500 is actually exactly the same.
