    Default LUX V Mule

HI guys. On another thread I posted a question t using a LUX V emitter LE in a Mule.

OK I received my Black aleph Mule today. It is rather nice.
Now pulled one of my LE's out of a light. It happens to be a LUX V emitter based. I am pretty sure it was designed to be driven with 2 cells. On that thread It was posted that this would not be an efficient setup. Not surprising. I don't care. I will play until I receive the NichiaLE...and will continue to play if that doesn't do it for me.
Anyway I installed it into the mule and lo and behold I get a nice even (This LUX V has a pretty good tint) light. As expected. It run's hot.
Now that I have used it for more than just a couple of minutes I have discovered that this does indeed run hot. I need a cool running LE!! I don't know what kind of run time I will get but for the time being it will do fine. I have a Nichia based LE it's way just for this Mule. I will be very interested in how they compare.
I have so many Aleph based lights around here that I reckon could try them all to see which gives me the best ...Well Best what? I don't know since for me the Mule is new ground. I am very used focused beams.
    I will report back.
I am interested in your experiences with different Le's with different emitters.

I'm using a "recycled" Cree LE out of an 1x123 A16 i got from the Shoppe almost a year ago. As i remember these used 810ma converters. It was very bright and after the "shock" value wore off i ended up putting in a 500ma LE. Unlike the reflector'ed lights with eyeball burning hot spots at close distances i like the bright even intensity provided by a high output converter in a mule light.

Due to the short length of the mule head i Lego'ed it to a 2x123 McLux body running a 17650 battery.

I like the way the new EN Mule heads look on the old McLux bodies too:
