I was looking at something like the puck lights that Home Depot has.

Anyone have any other suggestions?

I would jump all over this CREE one I saw on e-bay but it is 12VDC input and I need battery operated.

Please help. My normal lighting above the range costs me $6x2 each time they go out and they go quickly. I am looking for a battery operated (NiMH) that I can mount above the range and that gives off decent light. I know I cant be the only one with this problem.

You can use the ebay light, it looks pretty nice, just buy an 8AA cell holder from radioshack. That will supply 12V.
