    Default Malkoff Q5 with 18650?

Does any one have a this set up? Thinking of this set up in a sf defender and was wondering what the run time might be.
If i had one day left to live i would want to be at my workplace.Because every day is like a frickin eternity.

I don't think you want to run a Malkoff drop in with a 18650 due to the voltage input requirements of the drop in 3.8V (or greater) and the voltage output of the 18650 (starts at 4.2V and goes down to about 2.7V on a protected cell). If you want to run an 18650 I'd look at the various Dereelight Digital P60 drop in modules which are specifically meant for a 18650 or other Lithium-ion rechargeable.

I'm certainly no Surefire expert, but I didn't even think they would fit a 18650.

I'm not to worried about getting the 18650 to fit in a 6p. got a pretty good machine shop at my disposal. If Malkoff Q5 will run down to 3.7 regulated then drop out of regulation below that why wont a 18650 work? It starts at 4.2

It'll only be in regulation for a bit. 4.2V starting in an open circuit. Put an amp draw in there and you'll sag down a bit. So you'll hit the ~3.8 VF fo the LED pretty quick.
I'm currently running my M60 in a Lego with 2 18650s. Bright as heck and great runtime.
Neutral white, it's the new black.

Well, it will work, but once it's out of regulation (pretty quick) the brightness will start dropping. If you don't care about the light staying in regulation it will work fine, but if you want your light to have flat regulation for the whole battery life you need to find another option. IMHO, if you don't care about the light staying in regulation and are OK with directdrive, why pay a premium for a Malkoff in the first place?

How would the Malkoff run on 2x18650? What kind of regulated runtime could be expected? I was thinking about 2x18650 in a 9p with an A19.

2x18650 won't fit in a 9P with an A19. The batteries are 18mm in diameter. The Surefire tube is 17mm.
Use two 17670's in the 9P with an A19.

I realized they wouldn't fit, after thinking about it. Maybe Lighthound will get some more 2x18650 Natural bodies, someday. I'm tempted to get the black, but can't think of a black HA III head to use.
