I've been trying to get some info on Surefire drop-in compatible lights and for some reason my search-fu is failing me on this one. Could someone help me out with a few questions?

- Which Surefire lights are compatible with LED P90 style drop ins?

- Which ones can run on a single RCR 123 or 17670?

- Are any of them 2 stage?

- Are any other Surefire bodies or tails compatible with these lights?

- Will an HDS sized bezel fit?

Sorry if some of these are basic questions, I'm not really up to speed on Surefires.

P60 and the P90 have the same dimensions. Check their respective page for lights that are compatible. The common ones are the 6P, G3, G3, Z2 and 9P.

There are ones that will only run on 1 Li-ion battery. Depends on the Drop-in.

Some are multi staged.

The Drop-in is only a module, so if the drop-in is used in a Surefire light, whatever was compatible with that light should still be compatible. For a different light, it would depend on the light. If a light is compatible with the P60 and other Surefire parts, then the Drop-in module shouldn't change anything about the compatibility.

What is the difference between P90s and P60s?

6P, G3, G3, Z2 and 9P - which of these can run on a 17670 with an appropriate drop in?

Thanks

- Which Surefire lights are compatible with LED P90 style drop ins?
I'll assume you mean a D26 type lamp assembly, which covers your basic P60/P61/P90/P91. SF lights that are compatible with D26 lamps are sometime also referred to as "C" heads or bodies, and are the: 6P / 9P / 6Z / 9Z / C2 / C3 / D2 / D3 / M2 / Z2 / Z3. Some the the modules might have fit issues and required the removal of the outer spring.

- Which ones can run on a single RCR 123 or 17670?
Except for the rare 3P all of the lights above are two or three cell, meaning 6 volt or 9 volt. None of the stock SF incan lamps can take a 17670; not enough juice. Lumens Factory has a line of incan lamps that are designed for 3.7 volts, so you could run a 17670 or a single RCR123 + a dummy. For LEDs, the Surefire P60L can run off a 17670, three CR123s, or two 17500 (which are about the length of three CR123s.) There are a huge variety of D26 LEDs dropin with a wide range of voltages. You'll see some that are 3.7 to 6V, most are 3.7 to 9 volt, a few are 3.7 to 12 volt, and one or two are 3.7 to 18 volt. Which one you pick depends on how you expect to run it.

- Are any of them 2 stage?
There are many that are 2, 3, 4, 5 or more modes, that may be low-med-high-strobe, or some combinations. Here are a few:

- Are any other Surefire bodies or tails compatible with these lights?
There are adapters that can covert the Executive series or M-series to accept "C" heads of tailcaps. WWW.Lighthound.com sells Leef bodies that are "C" heads/tails and can take 1.5, 2 ,3 or 4 cells, but are bored for the larger 18mm diameter lithium ion cells like a 18650.

P60/P61 = 6 volt

P90/91 = 9 volt

6P/G2/Z2/C2 are 6 volt lights, meaning two CR123s. They can take a 17670 as long as you match the voltage to the dropin. A 17670 will drive a P60 but the beam will look sickly.

I have a 17670 in a old 6P driving a Lighhound CREE P4 3.7-9 volt dropin and it runs fine.
