These heavy-duty Alox Farmers and Soldiers are great pocket knives! I like the Soldiers but I prefer the keyring and saw of the Farmer. By the way, I think the limited edition red Farmers are still on sale at amazon.com at $14.99 which is one of the bargains of all time!

Got my Alox SAK over at ****'s Sporting Goods store, inside Roosevelt Field mall in Long Island. (But they sell Wenger SAKs, not Victorinox. Still, the Wenger Standard is literally a Vic Soldier; but with a lanyard ring).

There's also SAK of Soho (Victorinox), at 136 Prince street, in Manhattan.

Dantor,

I'm with ya bud.......the Farmers make an excellent EDC. All of the Alox SAK's are excellent slippies for carry. The Electrician Plus is my favorite of the bunch. I like the Pioneer Harvester as well.

SAK's in general are just great knives! :thumbsup:

Dantor,

Thanks! Nope, haven't got a PE OHT yet, or made one. Bianco's were nice just a bit too pricey for my tastes. That's why I got a Wenger Ranger instead, (big one in middle of pic in previous post, and below), a bit bigger than the Vic OHT's, comes in PE versions, and uses a button lock. These are nice..............

Don't get me wrong, the Vic OHT's are nice but these OH Wenger Rangers I like a bit better. I'm hoping Vic jumps on board and starts making a production PE OHT.

I have an old worn red Pioneer. Despite years of carry, it still functions like new. It's from the era when they use brass liners (can someone date this for me??) Click link for bigger pic.

Sweet Pioneer Marduke! especially with the brass liners, I'll ask around about how to date it.

I have a Silver Cross Pioneer but not the brass liners one;

not as much personality as yours!

have you noticed the different finishes on them, brushed tools;

a friend who helped me get it
mentioned that to me.
