Hi all,
Since an LED efficiency decreases when the power goes up, I knew that level 5 (500mA) would not be exactly half the luminous flux of level 6 (1000mA). Same for level 4 not being half of level 5 etc... they would be a bit more than 50%.
So I went on an measured all my levels using a stupid integrating ceiling method, which BTW gives pretty consistent results especially when measuring the same light output at different settings.
Here are my results, taking level 6 as a 100% reference. The light was powered by two Energizer CR123 batts. I performed a reset of the light before, so all the levels are stock.
Level 1 : 0,4%
Level 2 : 4,5%
Level 3 : 15%
Level 4 : 35%
Level 5 : 62%
Level 6 : 100%
As a comparison, I mesured my UX0K Ti-PD under the same conditions :
Low : 1,7%
High : 32%
If I assume level 6 produce 240 lumens at the emitter, and 170 lumens out of the front (30% of light lost in reflector and glass...) here are the numbers of all levels.
Level 1 : 0,7 lumens
Level 2 : 8 lumens
Level 3 : 26 lumens
Level 4 : 60 lumens
Level 5 : 105 lumens
Level 6 : 170 lumens
Ti-PD Low : 2,9 lumens
Ti-PD High : 55 lumens
That's all folks! Just thought I could shame these numbers.
If anyone has other measurements or comments about the SPY 007 levels, please share here!
cheers!
