Hey everyone, have seen this flashlight for sale in the UK (Where i am based) Problem is, while my understanding of all things flashlight is increasing, I cant work out what model it is? Is the one here http://www.qualityflashlights.co.uk/termekekmain.php?csoportid=40
an up to date model, and is the price reasonable? Now i see on the Dereelight website they sell new "Pills", is a Pill a regular p60 drop in? Or is it something else? Could someone explain to me how these upgradeable lights work? As i see that not only can you get a new emitter, some offer more output etc (1sm-1)? Im a bit baffled, any help would be great.
Thanks.

Those are old models and at those prices, they are not good deals. Order directly from Dereelight.

SD/DI work with 18650s. These are large rechargeable lithium ion batteries. SM work best with 2xCR123a. They can also work with 18650 but not well regulated (output will drop as the battery voltage drops).

This site has some interesting information:

Hi :welcome:
Yes those are definitely old models. The current CL1H is version 3. Your best bet is to get it directly from Dereelight, Alan is a great guy to deal with. http://www.cpfmarketplace.com/mp/showthread.php?t=173730

If you look at the ad you will notice the LED is a P4 and only driven at 750ma on high. The newer Digital pills are driven at 1.2a(1200ma) and are a Q5.

The digital pills have a max input voltage of 4.2v, so only one 18650 or one 17670. They also have multi power pills that let you use 2 CR123s and 1 that lets you use two RCR123s.

I recommend the 3SD Q5 with both reflectors(~$4.00 extra), it's my personnel favorite. Here's a link to the different pills available. http://www.dereelight.com/pills.htm.

The pills are P60s http://www.dereelight.com/module-list.htm. Without the reflector it's a pill. With the reflector it's a module. Hope this helps!

Buy directly from Dereelight. IIRC they uase EMS shipping for their flashlights.

A Pill is essentually the light engine, which consists mainly of the LED and the driver.
