Forget the P4, P7 and Quad Cree Meet the P5.

I was at SSC looking up some Specs for the P4 on their CRI when I noticed SSC has a new LED on the site the P5-II.

It appears to be a RGB LED in one package. The dies look to be Cree dies.

Looks good - but can this actually be mounted into a flashlight?

I like the prospects of a more balanced spectrum. But doubt it would be as bright as white LEDs since warmer LEDs have in the past be less efficient. I would be willing to sacrifice some lumens though, to get superior color-rendering.

The lumen specs are low but it's the packaging of RGB in a single package that makes it attractive. It's relatively smaller than other single package RGBs.

Hopefully the price is lower than other RGB LEDs.

Forget the P4, P7 and Quad Cree Meet the P5.
