Black Rose
Flashlight Enthusiast
I've had this beast for 10 years. The label inside it indicates it was made in January 1998.
It runs on 4 D cells and has a Philips 4.7V, 0.75A KPR113 bulb in it.
I measured the voltage and it's getting 5.16 volts at the terminals, but it's never been very bright.
I have got some spare SSC U-Bin P4s kicking around, and also have some Nichia 5mm DS and GS LEDs on order. I'd need to use a driver or resistors at a minimum to go the LED route.
The bulb illuminates no matter which way the switch is installed, so that could be a critical issue if I went the LED route.
Any recommendations on what I could do with this lantern to make it brighter and usable again?
