Fivemega Elephant II, 8 emoli 18650 cells (from Makita BL 1830 drill battery), driving a 64657 (250W) bulb. I have one with a 3" reflector and an AW soft start switch. The amount of light from that size is amazing, supposed to be about 16,000 lumen. Caveat; AW doesn't rate his switch for that power level.

a practical light, or a show & tell light?

16k lm is overkill on heat & runtime.

don't those 250w osrams put out 9000lm not 16k lm?:candle:

You won't get 20 minutes runtime out of any combination that meets your specs (brighter than a 623 and no larger than a double 2D.) To run the high amp bulbs (5-10 amp draw) you have to use 18650 emoli, and they are only 1500mw. Think like the gas tank on a car, your light size is the tank. The faster you burn gas, the fewer miles you can go.
