Thread: FS: Very limited Extreme III with R2 XRE.

Default Re: FS: Very limited Extreme III with R2 XRE.

Geesh, I have already bought about 5 of these little beauties and given a cpl as gifts.
They really are the cat's meow as AAA's go, and the UI can be a little complex but with the new instructs and even video on YTube it is easy to pic it up and then very easy.

I'm crashing, but I will take one if still available.. 10440 if avail, if not still good.
    I'll pp later today..

    Many thanks, again..

X_marine: I have one left with a high VF.

I also have 4pcs remaining with a lower VF Cree R2 in brightness LED. These can also use a 10440 lithium ion battery but you do not want to take the brightness above 50% otherwise you will fry the LED. There sin't enough aluminum mass to keep the LED happy beyond the 50% brightness level.

Yup. And i wasn't comparing from the beamshots i've posted, but the light bounced of a ceiling (as close as i can get to measuring total output by eye). It was pretty bright, but comparing it to various other flashlights (with known outputs) i'd guesstimate it to, say, 130-ish, 140-ish lumens.

I stand by my measurements. The sphere checks out against others and the instrument (Optronix SP-100) is dead on to 4 decimal places. If your guesstimate is correct I would suspect a difference in Vf, but I'm not sure your ceiling bounce accounts for all the light being emitted. The ARC Extreme III has a very smooth pattern and puts quite a bit of light into the spill (a nice feature in an EDC I think), much more so than the D10.

I have two more of these coming; when they get here I will measure them.

Note that an EagleTac P10C2 measures 280+ lumens, compared to a Dereelight DBS V2's 250 or so, but the DBS will out throw the P10C2 because it has a more concentrated spot.

Being I already have a cpl for 10440's prolly the lower VF which will be fine as a gift to someone who doesn't even know what a 10440 is. ') But I will assume these are as great with Alk or Lith, the latter being what I always recommend to non-flashaholics.

Let me try and get this PP off..
    Many Thanks.

    @Will

Like i said, i'm not comparing hotspots (and yes, a smooth spill-type beam is VERY useful in a small EDC such as this) nor direct beams, but overall, indirect, bounced light. Also, i wasn't comparing the output with the D10 (unlike in the shots) but an Arc6 w/ K2 which should have about 130-ish, 140-ish lumens on Level 4.

That said, I've just compared it with a Jetbeam Jet-III Pro (rated at 225 lumens out the front - which i think is relatively accurate) and it seems like the Extreme III R2 might, in fact, be closer to the 200 lumen figure than i've initially thought.

Don't let the small size fool you, this is a Powerhouse of a light!
I just picked up one on CPFMP and that makes 3 for me . I don't
think anybody would be unhappy after using one of these.
It is got to be the best AAA pocket light I have ever owned. +1

    I have a Jet-II IBS, it measures 202 lumens with CR123 on high, 249 with RCR123.

    Hello Again,

    Which one's are these?

Do they have a low Vf? Are they efficient?

    Thanks,

    Rick

wolverine1: These were made in limited numbers labelled as "MJP GT LE" and since they have a Rebel LED with very low VF, they are efficient. These also come with a smooth reflector rather than a op reflector.

I'll Take Two, if you have them.

The last light I received from you, was the Cree, the ones in this thread. It has a Vf of 3.42. I am still somewhat new at this. Is this primarily for the higher voltage batteries (3.7) and if so how will it do on Primary batteries?

Also, one more question, could you build me an "Extreme Micro"? I would really like to acquire a couple if you have any parts left to make them.

    Thanks,

    Rick

There is only 2pcs of the MJP GT LE with low vf left.

Anyone interested in a prototype Extreme III with an SSC P4 U2 USXOH? There is no laser engraving. This was machined with a manual lathe and is HA III in olive drab. Gotta ask $150.00 for this one. Its a one of a kind light. Its also 3.5mm shorter than all the Extreme III's.
