Any maglite cree experts around to help please?

What would be the difference in using this in a 2d or a 3d maglite? Would the brightness or the runtime be any different? Also can anyone suggest any rechargeable D cells or any alternative batteries / cells to use in a 2D or 3D mag?

I would do a 3 cell over a 2 cell. They don't state the amount of current provided to the led, but if this driver works with a Cree Q5, it will work with a Seoul P4, which works MUCH better in a M@g reflector.
