I can't find any on Google, so I'm not confident.

But does anyone know of any pre-tabbed AA cells, OEM or aftermarket, that are LSD?

Where can I get loose tabs (just the tabs, without the batteries)?

How would I solder these? Like I would normally solder copper wires and IC chips to a PCB?

You don't want loose tabs. The tabs exist so that you don't heat up the cell by soldering directly to it.

OK then, how would you solder two tabs together, same way as soldering regular copper wire?

Probably it is not sold anywhere - these batteries are designed for slightly different market. But maybe LuxLuthor would be nice enough and make some special order?

In Australia, Master Instruments sells tabbed Eneloops for battery pack construction. I think they also sell some pre-assembled packs.

Now, finding one of their dealers that carries that specific product range may be a bit harder, but I'm willing to bet that email to the distributor would give you some leads. (ooh, a pun!)

Eric

i just solder them.
a bit of fine sandpaper applied to the spot you wish to take the solder,a good hot properly tinned iron, and kester "44" solder work fine for me.
maybe a place like batteries plus can tab them for you?
the 2 stores near me will.
i know the owner well and they send work to me on chargers, ect.

I found some, but if I want any, I will take up LL's kind offer.

A prominent Australian retail electronics chain is selling 2Ah LSD AA tabbed cells under their in-house "Enekeep" brand name for $8 EACH.

Yes, you read that right. That's about US$7 for each AA cell.

Still, it's nice to know that such a thing does exist and is available retail, though.
