I asked Fred to build me first one Knurly Nellie but it turned into two. A CR123 and an Pila A150 Knurly Nellie. I'd like to share with you the progress and pic's of the project. I have bought quite a few lights from CPF members and nothing taken away from other light builders, these may be the finest lights I own. Warning, this thread has many graphics and pictures so it may take a while to get the hang of posting pictures in a thread.

First some draft pic's and build pics.

That is absolutely fantastic work. Great photos, showing machining of the very highest precision and quality. Truly knock-out stuff!

Could you make something similar that would use a CR2 primary battery?

Could there be a two level CR2 primary? I have a lummi raw CR2 two level that I really like and would like another with updated led but he is not making them any more. What would be the approximate price range? Just plain aluminum nothing too expensive. The great economic meltdown destroyed my 401 K that was to be my retirement toy money, and at 62 I will never get it back.

As I recall Rob's two-level lights were resistored. I'm not going that route.

And, I don't know of any two-level drivers. The simplest that I have available is a three-stage driver.

If you were looking for a custom light, I'm afraid it would not be cheap, sorry. Better to leave your funds in the 401K then and hope for the best.
