First:

Superduper thanks for the products and allways that one freebie that makes it all even sweeter to shop at the Shoppe.....!!

Fast delivery and very nice packaging....

And now a question...

I just got a GD1000 for a Aleph LE.. (my second)

But my SOB 750 whoops the crap out of the GD1000.......:duh2:

What did I do wrong...?
I`ve connected everything as the pictures show...

What can it be...?

Thanks.....!!!!

If you can check the two sense resistors location on the GD1000 and make sure they are the correct value.

It's possible I didn't solder on the right values. For the GD1000 there should be one sense resistor marked 050 or something like that.

Not sure how you are measuring between the two. It's possible the GD1000 on one LE with an LED and a different unit with the SOB750 and a different LED can possibly be the difference between the two LEDs.

Your GD1000 may in fact be delivering 1A to the LED (and maybe not). But, 1A to one LED and 750 to another similar LED may be the 750 appears brighter either because of tint, color or bin code variation.

One method to verify this is to use a test LED on both converter boards as that would help differentiate the difference.

Hi Wayne...!!!

Thanks for the goods and also thanks for your replie....!!

Not sure but: I´ve got two that says 10 and another "block" that says "ACM"...

The other ones are much bigger...

The two that says 10, are these the ones you mean...?
(I`m so sorry, but I do suck badly when it comes to this...)

BTW, the leds I used are Q5 straight of "the reel"... same bin.

OH, is there any possibility getting a converter driving the led at say 1.2A....?
If so how....?

I`ve seen the R1 and R2 calculators but I`m dense and apperently don not understand English......

Thanks again...!

.1 and .1 = 1.0A

1.2A is not going to increase the output that much.

.05 and .22 =1.2A

Thanks...!

The LE I`m building will make a difference for me though..
going from a Standard 750 to 1.2..
Or even up to 1A...

No luck getting the 1A going though....

And a few moments ago my patience ran out aswell.......:poof:

What is not clear and I will get it corrected.

Is it this picture you are referring to?

gd1_w.jpg

If this needs updating, let me know what is not clear and I will get it corrected.

The GD has a common ground shared by Vin- and LED-.

Vin in the above picture is Vin +.

Wayne, it seems that I`m the one whom is not updated...
I was stubbornly looking for a picture of the exact converter I`m using allthough they should be soldered the same way it seems....

And I have limited skills on this aswell.....

Example: VIN is...?

I actually thought I just needed to solder LED + and - onto the converter board but now it seems I`m missing something....?

I`ve been looking for pictures where it shows a bit clearer exactly how to solder everything correctly....
For you guys that have done this a thousand times whilst sleeping I know it`s a walk in the park....

I`m a noob-------:tinfoil:

Thanks!
