From reading the description of this light is it possible with the light on to just rotate the bezel and go from low all the way up to high (with every level in between) without doing anything else? Or is it more of a case of having modes that you pre-set before hand?

Sorry for the dumb question.

It's not a dumb question at all. The answer is "kind of".

You can go from any setting to high by turning the bezel. High is a default while low is not. You'll have to program the low level in but that's very simple.

It's not continuously variable like a SF Titan, if that's what you mean. When the bezel is tight, the light will be on either max or strobe. When the bezel is loosened, it will be in the user defined mode, which can be set to any level between min and max. The possibilities for user mode are continuously variable, but only one is "set" at a time. You can change the settings in about 10 seconds on the fly, but you don't have instant access to every possible level.

Hope that helps. :)
