The pictures I've seem of the SureFire M2 give it the appearance of having a much larger head than the 6P. Is this the case?

How does it compare to the Brinkmann LX, for example?

My SF 6P head measures 1.250", while the Brinkmann LX measures 1.450", not inclding the rubber part. Including the rubber part, the LX diameter is about 1.575"

Can anyone measure the diameter of the head of the M2? Also, how much longer is it than a 6P? My older 6P (no hex bezel, or LOTC), measures almost exactly 5.0" in OAL I'd appreciate that measurement, too. TIA

I don't have a 6P body but I do have an M2 bezel and a 9P bezel (should be the same as a 6P).

The measurements are:
1 3/4" long
A hair shy (maybe 1/32") of 2" diameter

Here's a pic of the two side by side:

Remember that the M2 Bezel is the size it is because of the features it has and the performance requirements it must exceed.

The M2 Bezel has Shock Isolation for the Lamp Assembly, thick walls for strength and durability, and a Pyrex Lens for waterproofness; resistance to scratching and melting, and increased light throughput.

If you need any of these features, the size of the M2 Bezel is a small price to pay.

Don't forget that it looks cool too.

It doesn't add too much bulk but it all depends on how you plan on carrying it.

And as Al said, it's built like a tank!
