Thank You Don!

Don,
I got mine today in New Orleans and must admit I'm somewhat disappointed. The tritium vial is not perfectly perpendicular to the clip ...
Seriously, the only thing better than the thrill of OWNING one of these beauties is the thrill of USING it.
We have grown to appreciate your caring for all creatures great and small but beyond that you are truly a VERY gifted artisan.
I really want to buy another one to give to my son - the sporting-goods-store-manager. Can I get one reserved on "lay-a-way" for a couple of weeks until I have the money to pay for it just so I'll know one will still be there available when I want to buy it????
You'll have a hard time topping this one Don.
Best regards,
Bill Sickinger
To paraphrase Galadriel "In this magic torch, is caught the light of the LED set amidst a titanium case. It will shine still brighter when night is about you. May it be a light to you in dark places, when all other lights go out."
Crash,
I now recall your light. The H3 vial is just fine. I screwed up putting the clip in the wrong place is all. I think I did the same thing on Coach's light and perhaps he will be able to confirm this in our life time.
Send me an E-mail about a second light. I don't do lay aways or hold lights for folks because I would just goof up in all likelihood. However I think I have an alternate solution that will work for you.
I am glad that some of you guys are finding the light as useful as I do. There were a number of set backs and delays in getting these lights built and at times, I wondered if I had over shot the potential interest and market for them. That they were labor intensive and time consuming, especially in the quantity I had commited to, was also troubling at times.
Every night I use mine and in doing so, my confidence in the viability of the light would be reinforced. That said though, there is nothing more reassuring than the encouragement from comments and words of others and for that, I owe so many of you my gratitude. Thanks!![]()

There is a type of perfection that transcends the quest for lumens. Buying a $250 1-cell light for "lum factor" is like buying a $250 single malt Scotch for the alcohol content.

Ned I've got to say I'm completely hopelessly jealous of your stash there. I had originally intended to do roughly the exact same thing as you, have one of each of Don's lights (with a few exceptions of course, like Ti protos). But sadly I'm a man of little means, so after acquiring 4 total McGizmo's, I've had to sell 2 recently, leaving me with a LS27 and a mizer PD-S. Perhaps one day I'll win the lottery, and after the first order of business (donating most of it to charities), I can fulfill my desire to own every McGizmo ever made.
Oh, the horror of it all.
I had to get one of the two bad lights that you ever made.
OK, seriously, mine showed up today and I can't find anything wrong with it.If you did put the clip in the wrong place or the tritium upside down, you sure fooled me. I was going to type one of those "Wow, I must have lucked out and got one of the good ones" type posts, but now I can't. No marks at all and this light looks brighter than my one from the first wave (using a primary Surefire). It's a keeper.
Here she is with another new piece of titanium.
The business end.
In hand on low.
I didn't get any of the messed up clip and trit.
Thanks Don, another hit.![]()

OK, so I'm retired and have nothing better to do. I took some more pictures.
Anybody see a problem, I don't.
Still looks good to me.
Bernie made me jealous, just showing off.![]()

Coach,
What is the other piece of Ti posing with you new LS 20 in your first pic? Just curious.

Looks like a Ti version of brass knuckles. I'm not well schooled enough to know if the knife is a Stryder or not but the Ti 'shroom looks like something that could supplement such a knife in close quarter combat.

It's basically an attitude adjuster, the head fits in the palm and the shaft protrudes between the ring and middle finger. They are pretty rare, Barry only makes a few at a time and they go fast (sound familiar?). Crash, that's a good guess, only not as intimidating and that is a Strider (it's been a good month).

Received today, looks verrrry nice!
Thanks Don![]()

Coach,
Nice shroom! Hope you don't need to use do too much attitude adjusting!
Hey Big, have you spent much time with high school kids lately?![]()
I was wondering if one of you kind folks could measure the length of the LS20 accurate to at least 1/10th of an inch or maybe even 1/100th. Just as a point of reference make the measurement with the head twisted "full on".
Thanks for your help.
