comparing the L2d Q5 with the PD30 Q5, the pd30 has 220 lumens on turbo mode where the L2D has 180. Could the L2D be modded to take 2 CR123 batteries to have the same lumen output?

You would have to replace the circuit, and get a new battery tube and tailcap. Replacing the circuit eliminates that famous Fenix efficiency, so why not just get the P3D to begin with?

BTW, the L2D Q5 can run a single CR123. In fact, that's exactly what the P2D is, it used the same head.

i didn't get the p3D because I wanted the L2D, I was just wondering if it was possible.

I guess you could get a p3d head and swap it out when you wanted to.
