I have been lurking here for a few weeks now and just noticed this thread section. My father in law is a custom knife maker, as well as jewelry maker. I too have dabbed in the custom knife making field, under the close watch of my father in law.

I just wanted to share some of his work, as well as mine.

I have most of the pictures already in my photobucket account, and they are kinda big, so I will just post a link to the picture:

lets start off with one of mine...

My father in law doesn't make his own blades. This particular knife has a blade from Damascus USA. Everything else is custom made. The handle is deer antler, the the guard and the end cap is Silver. It also has a turquoise stone mounted on the butt. I made this knife under his close supervision though and I am in no way capable of making one on my own (for example the stone mounting takes a trained hand).

Now lets see some of his knives, can you tell the difference?

My father in laws name is Steven Chrisjohn. Both knives are very elaborate. The blades used in these two knives are custom. He got these from Joe Cordova. Anyone who is into knife collecting is familiar with the name. The smaller knife is damascus which was made from a harley davidson chain (pretty cool). The large bowie has a deer antler handle, carved with a bear head and a bear claw guard. The samller knife has a beaver jaw handle. Both knives have intricate stone mountings and I belive the bear knife even has some mammoth tusk pieces inlaid.

Let me know what you guys think. :twothumbs
