    Mountain Series

The MOUNTAIN SERIES of Peak LED Solutions flashlights use a special custom LED that we refer to as Snow white because of its color tint. Unlike most white 5 mm LEDs that have a very blueish color, the Snow white LED is very neutral in color tint. Power output levels average per LED are 20 Candela for standard output, 34 Candela or 5 Lumens for High Power and 40 Candela or 7 Lumens for Ultra Power times the number of LEDs per flashlight head.

MATTERHORN: The Matterhorn is a small pocket LED flashlight that uses a single AAA size battery and one or three 5 mm LEDs. It is available in black Anodized Aluminum, Brass, Stainless Steel, Gold plated brass and in limited runs of Titanium. Three different power levels, High Power single LED head, (34 candlepower) High Power three LED head, (90 candlepower) and Ultra Power three LED head (120 candlepower). Battery compartments include Key Ring, Lug, and Pocket styles in black Anodized Aluminum and Brass and Gold plated brass. Battery compartments of Key Ring and Pocket styles in Stainless Steel and limited runs of Key Ring style in Titanium are available. The pocket body with the optional cap can be used as a spare battery/storage compartment.

The Matterhorn can use Alkaline, Lithium or NiMH rechargeable batteries. Use the 3.7 volt Lithium-Ion rechargeable batteries with the high power head only. Two different sized special AAA Lithium-Ion rechargeable batteries and charger is also available with a 5/8 inch or 1 inch shorter battery compartment. The special sized AAA Lithium-Ion options, (standard output or high power only), makes the Matterhorn the first true high performance key-ring flashlight available anywhere. An optional translucent cover that slips onto the head to reduce output is useful for reading menus in dark restaurants. The optional momentary switch can be used on key-ring bodies that have the removable negative battery contact.

Default Peak Led Solutions - Product Lineup

    Ocean Series

PACIFIC: Is a new design for 2006 that incorporates the latest in battery management electronics and a high performance 3 watt LED. The PACIFIC electronics monitors the requirement of the power output of the LED and the ability of a single Alkaline battery to supply electrical current to maintain that output level. When that output level can no longer be maintained, the electronics changes the operating mode to a battery saver operation by decreasing the output to about one-half of the original start up output. Lithium and NiMH rechargeable batteries maintain constant power output until depleted. The PACIFIC electronics can more than double the battery life at equal or greater light output in candlepower than some other same sized competitive LED flashlights.

    Pacific: Black Anodized Aluminum
Next to the quarter is a pocket style CR-2 battery Pacific; then a key ring type CR-2; a pocket AA battery; number four is a AA battery key ring light; fifth is a single AAA battery key ring style; and last next to the pocket pen is the 2 x AAA battery compartment with the optional brass momentary switch. All removable key ring models can use the optional momentary switch in brass or stainless steel.

The PACIFIC is a small compact and versatile LED flashlight that can be configured by the user to different requirements. The head is available in 5 different power output levels from 50 to over 500 candlepower, and can be moved between up to 5 different battery compartments. When powered by 2 AAA batteries, the output can range from 50 to 1000 candlepower. The PACIFIC is the most efficient/powerful LED flashlight in its size range currently available. Battery compartments include Key Ring and Pocket styles in black Anodized Aluminum and Brass and Gold plated brass. The pocket body with the optional cap can be used as a spare battery/storage compartment. There are black Anodized Aluminum or Brass bodies that use two AAA batteries. Stainless Steel and limited runs of Titanium are available with a single AA battery in the key ring style. The black Anodized Aluminum two AAA battery style with a momentary tail switch and pocket clip makes for a very powerful one handed industrial inspection light. The PACIFIC can use Alkaline, Lithium or NiMH rechargeable batteries in AA, AAA or 3 volt CR-2 sizes. An optional translucent cover that slips onto the head to reduce output is useful for reading menus in dark restaurants. The optional momentary switch can be used on key-ring bodies that have the removable negative battery contact.

BALTIC SEA: Is a new design for 2006 that incorporates the latest in battery management electronics and a high performance 3 watt LED. The BALTIC SEA electronics monitors the requirement of the power output of the LED and the ability of a single Alkaline battery to supply electrical current to maintain that output level. When that output level can no longer be maintained, the electronics changes the operating mode to a battery saver operation by decreasing the output to about one-half of the original start up output. Lithium and NiMH rechargeable batteries maintain constant power output until depleted. The BALTIC SEA electronics can double the battery life at equal or greater light output in candlepower than some other same sized competitive LED flashlights.

The BALTIC SEA is a small compact and versatile LED flashlight that can be configured by the user to different requirements. The head is available in 5 different power output levels from 50 to 280 candlepower, and can be moved between up to 9 different battery compartments. When powered by 2 AAA or 2 N cell batteries, the output can range from 50 to 450 candlepower.

    Volcano Series

RAINIER: The Rainier is a three and one-half watt output high performance LED flashlight using a single RCR-123A protected rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery. The head design uses a 20 mm diameter reflector for maximum light output with an unbreakable lens to protect the LED. The pocket style battery compartment is available in black Anodized Aluminum and Brass. The pocket body with the optional cap can be used as a spare battery/storage compartment. Use only protected RCR-123A batteries.

The Rainier is the most powerful rechargeable single battery pocket sized LED flashlight available. Using the RCR-123 Lithium-Ion 3.7 volt battery, it will light up the side of a house at 300 feet. Many have referred to it as holding sun light in the palm of your hand. The RCR-123 Lithium-Ion battery under normal operating conditions can be recharged over 500 times with a normal run time of about 45 minutes per full charge. Extra Lithium-Ion batteries may be charged and replaced as needed, and then the discharged batteries can be placed in the optional charger. Some other competitive rechargeable LED flashlights require that the entire flashlight be placed in the charger. While their flashlight is being charged, it is not available to be used. The standard battery charger from Peak LED Solutions can charge two Lithium-Ion batteries from U.S. standard 120 volt AC outlet or a 12 volt DC automotive outlet.

The Rainier may also use a standard 3 volt Lithium battery for reduced light output and with a run time of about 12 hours or the 2 x AA battery compartment. A 3 volt two AA battery compartment in black Anodized Aluminum, Brass or Stainless Steel is available with an optional click-on, click-off tail switch. An optional detachable light wand in three different colors is available. A double ended CR-123A battery compartment in an anodized aluminum or brass is also available that can use a different head on each end, or one end can be used as a sealed spare battery/storage compartment with an optional cap. The optional momentary switch can be used on key-ring bodies that have the removable negative battery contact.

    Accessories

    Delrin Battery Caps
These are machined Delrin plastic caps that may be screwed into spare battery compartments. They are tapped for key ring adapters and are solid. They come with o-rings for water resistance. Key ring adapters, battery caps, and spare battery compartments are sold separately. Some compartments require two battery caps and others only one. Almost anything may be stored within including medicines with the stainless steel cases. The battery caps come in black or white. The white ones may be dyed with Ritt or other fabric dye to almost any color. Follow instructions on the package and suspend the battery cap in the liquid. Time will determine color tint and intensity.

    Wooden Gift Box:
This is the perfect gift, collector set, or presentation award. Four different high performance LED flashlights housed in a Walnut or Oak display case; with brass hardware and a hinged glass lid. The set of flashlights are available in a choice of anodized aluminum, solid brass, stainless steel, pure titanium, or 24 carat gold plated brass. Each flashlight is laser engraved as requested. Batteries and accessories are included along with a black velvet pocket protector.

    Delrin Diffuser Caps
These are translucent Delrin slip-on caps used to reduce the light output of the flashlight when required such as when reading a book, menu, or to maintain night vision and not disturb others. There is also some side spill and the small hole in the center projects a reduced spot beam. Only insert the flashlight head far enough into the cap to prevent it from falling off. Jamming it all the way down will make it almost impossible to remove. From the left is for a Matterhorn, next is a Baltic Sea, third is a Pacific, and last is for the Caribbean. These may be dyed with Ritt or other fabric dye to almost any color. Follow package directions but do not allow the cap to come in contact with the metal or glass container.

    Magnetic Clamps
These accessory flashlight clamps and magnetic holders offer a usefulness not found in other flashlight lines. By removing the key ring adapter from the rear of the flashlight our pocket LED flashlight converts into a portable utility light. This accessory comes in three versions. The simplest is a strong magnet with a flexible plastic arm that may be positioned as required. To the rear is a very strong 2 inch opening clamp with magnet and the optional dual arm assembly. The smaller clamp has a one inch capacity and a standard single flex arm. These are great for automotive, general maintenance, or hobby applications. (Flashlight not included).

I sent an email to peak not long ago about manufacturing such a battery compartment. My Carribean (sans electronics) is my favorite pocket carry and it would be awesome to have a spare battery with the light. I'm glad to see they made this, do you know how to order it?
Honestly, this is the last one I'll buy!

You could always requset one on the order form, there is an area for special instructions but I am much more in favor of giving Peak a call on the phone.

+1 for the usefulness of this post, this pretty much makes the website obsolete. That being said, I'm also seeing a lot of data here that doesn't appear to be referenced at all in Peak's Shop area - you would recommend just phoning in an order if the config doesn't appear on the order page?

Be careful, this information is akin to opening Pandora's Box!!! I went from one Peak Led to over 15 after viewing this information, not that I have any regrets.

For truly functional flashlights, Peak is unbeatable.

I'm really liking that "Matterhorn AAA smooth pocket style with a 3 LED head."

Could make for a nice super small EDC for those days the RA Twisty 85-TR is too big to carry. (Such as formal wear, etc.)

I can't wait to see the rest of the Peak line-up!

I am wondering if anyone owns a Peak Matterhorn 3-LED HP head with a 10180 or 10280 body that can tell me the respective runtimes for them?

my bad, thought I had noted it was a conversion of the Peak 2008 Catalogs. I went back to edit the first post to make that clearer.

This is a great thread and very informative indeed.
In a consumer point of view, I see peak's flash base website to be significantly lacking information (made obvious by this thread). Thanks so much clint! Great work!

But, I still don't see much of a difference between the Glacier Bay, Atlantic, Caribbean, and Mediterranean - they're all CR123 lights no? And two with a slightly bigger head, two with smaller ones. But what other difference is there, if any?

Where did all the pictures go? This has been the go-to thread for Peak body's compatibility.

Now only if their website was as clear as this spec sheet. This clears a lot up for me. Thanks for posting this. I've always been interested in Peak lights, but their website is confusing. The Eiger may just be the light to replace my Arc AAA on my keychain.

But after looking at the Eiger on Peak's website, there's one thing I don't understand. They have different model numbers like 10180, 10280, and 10440. Some have SS after the number, I assume that's for stainless steel. What do the numbers mean? I'm thinking of an Eiger, powered by 1 AAA, power level 8, and I'm unsure which model number is the right one.

Also, does anyone have any beamshots showing the wide, medium, and narrow beam angles?
    Thanks.

    Aren't flashlights cool?

I will see if I can pull some beamshots to this thread. The different model #'s correspond directly with the newer Lithium Ion battery offerings that are out there- the 10440 is the same size as a AAA cell. I prefer to use AAA NiMH in my Eigers- but some of the Li Ion cells are pushing well over 3v and the Eiger Rebel emitter can handle it. I may switch in the future- but the #8 cool medium that I have puts out a HUGE amount of Light. SS (Stainless Steel) is additional $10 upcharge as opposed to HA and Brass. The wide emitter is slightly shorter than the Medium and Narrow and therefore shortens the overal length of the light- but not by much. I am a twistie fan- you may be too if you have edc'd an Arc for a while- the amount of light is far greater than the single or even the 3led Peak Materhorn that I used to edc. Blown away by the output of the #8. You may prefer the Cool tint as opposed to the Natural- more Arc like IMHO. More later.

Thanks, RAGE CAGE. I also see they have 2AAA versions available. Do you just have to order a separate battery tube to screw into the light to get the extra length? Or is there a single longer battery tube to accomodate 2 AAA's?
    Thanks.

There is a single AAA tube- I think they are approx. $10-$15- depending on the material. I think they are only available with the removable key chain post- this allows the use of a momentary switch if one should want to. The nice part about they keychain post is that you can remove the negative battery contact to completely clean it- something that can not be done with the lug body- and you can tail stand it if you take the post off- it has it's own o-ring on it.
PEAKS are unique in the fact that you can LEGO a lot of their offerings- the Shasta heads fit the Baltic Bodies, the Matterhorn bodies fit the Eiger heads and vice versa- TONS of interchanging possiblities. The drawback of the AAAx2 body would be the length- but you would get a lot of extra run time if you kept it on pocket clip cary mode in a shirt pocket.

I usually run short bursts of 2 minutes or less at a time- with AAA eneloop- I get a decent amount of runtime- maybe about 20-30 minutes before it starts dropping off- but I like to keep my eneloop topped off- every day or every other day at work. runtime will encrease with the energizer lithium primary. my daughter read a book during a nighttime drive we had and she was able to read for about an hour with the #8 in the car with a new energizer lithium primary.
