TL-3 Bulb Safe to Run on IMR16340 without going POOF?

I have a set of IMR16340s and was wondering if it is safe to run the TL-3 bulb on them without it going

The reason I ask, is that I once had a hotwired TL-3 w/ Carly 1499, and when I put the TL-3 bulb back in with 2x17500s, it poofed the bulb instantly.

I know the IMR16340s won't sag, so I just wanted to make sure the bulb can handled them.

The TL-3 bulb has been driven by MANY CPFers on a pair of 17500s. The fact that it flashed for you is probably just a coincidence of timing more than anything else.

The TL-3 bulb should be fine on a pair of IMR16340s as well, I assume you are planning on running in a TL2?

I am running my TL3 with two DLG 17500's, unprotected, with no problems. Bulb is pulling 1.23A's from the cells. The TL3 bulb is pretty robust.

I ran a TL-3 on 17500's myself once, no problems.

Give the IMR a try and let us know the results. After all, it's only a bulb!

Thanks guys - I guess it was just a coincidence or a bad bulb then. I just got a pair of IMR16340s to make a nice little C2 hotwire, but I wanted to try out my new FM E2e bi-pin socket with a TL-3 bulb which I have on the way. I don't have any other RCRs at the moment, so I only have these IMRs to try it out with.

So I'll give it a shot and report back then. I just didn't want to needlessly and waste $5, so I thought I'd ask the experts!

I have had no problems with a TL-3 on 2x18650, so it should be OK.
