No, the POB will not operate at all while plugged into either of its chargeres. If it is on and you plug it in it will shut off.
I recommend you fully charge it with its AC charger until the green "full" indicator light comes on, and have fun!

A couple of questions about the POB...
How long does it take to fully charge after say an hours use? - mine seems to take for ever? (I've charged same SLAs in half the time) I am using a 12v 1amp power supply.
And how hard would it be to modify it so that it can run on external power?

Is 12v enough from 12v lead battery? maybe if power supply is not regulated. I using 14v/450mA. but I looking for more powerful power supply.
