I was amazed to see how much the filament was stretched by the projectile shattering the bulb.

I guess that when the filiment is so hot it is very ductile. It's amazing that it stretched that far before it broke. Thanks for the link.

actually, since a filament its actually wound up metal....maybe its not such much that it stretched as much as it unwound? :thinking:

A filament in a line-voltage incan lamp is actually not just a coil, but a coiled-coil. So the filament can actually "unwind" quite a bit
