I'm a Sous Chef at The Henry Ford/Greenfield Village in Dearborn, MI. I was working in the Village today when a call came over the radio that something really bad was happening just a quick run from where we were working. Did'nt get the whole message as both myself and another chef had our radios in the office and we were in the kitchen. We were almost done for the day and all of the hourly employees had gone home. We just knew security needed help and since the village is closed for the season we thought we might have been the closest people available. Police and Fire were just pulling up when we got there. Smoke and flames were coming out of the front of the second floor. They got the visible flames out quickly and the a lot of people thought it was over but there was smoke coming out of the roof and chimney. A firefighter with an axe and a ladder got up on the awning and on the second swing a chunk of wood flew away and flames lept out. We watched for a little while longer but had to go back to the kitchen and help our boss load some equipment for transport up to the museum.

Here's the house that burned: http://www.wrenscottage.com/gvm/invention/boardinghouse.php

Local news is reporting the second floor and front of the house burned with the second floor looking bad. Although there's no official cause yet, I've heard that contractors were in the house today doing some work.
