Surefire M3 combat LED cnvrsn which head?

I have the surefire m3 combat light. It sucks down batteries in a matter of minutes at 225 lumens. I was wondering which is the best/brightest/best battery longevity for the buck LED conversion bulb/head for this body?

The KL6 as well as the KL2 will fit the M3 body. You also could easily mod the M3 head the way donn_ describes it in the following thread: https://www.candlepowerforums.com/threads/213762

I'm THIS close >< to doing it. C'mon payday! LOL!

On January 15th 2009 SureFire will hopefully share what they have planned for the M3 and associated WeaponLights in terms of a new LED bezel.

I wonder whether it will be anything like their proto-type "KL9" their shared at SHOT Show 2008.

I would not wait for SF.

I might actually want to use it this year!

I'm not holding my breath for Surefire anymore. The P61L and KL9 head were in the 2008 catalog, but the items still aren't available.

Consider some protected Lithium-ion Cells. I've purchased Lumens Factory bulbs for my M3, AW 17500's cells and a HO-M3 will likely make you happy. You can also go higher to the EO-M3, but runtime will suffer.

You can also add a cell extender and use two 17670's for more runtime, 46 minutes with the HO-M3, and 36 minutes with the EO-M3.
