I don't use the big name brand batteries, but some products come with Energizer or Duracell, so I use them in that case. Back in the 80's I remember having a problem with some energizer AAs failing early before the others (cells in series). I just had an AAA run down before the others in a newer LED light that uses 3AAA.

I use RayoVac and other cheap store brands and they seem to deplete evenly.

Is there a reliability and alkaline performance test? It would be interesting to see how good the batteries really are.

Check the threads of interest sticky at the top of the forum.

There is an alkaline battery shootout listed.

The data is a couple of years old now, so it won't show any advances by the major battery companies, but should give an idea.

I'm also a fan of Rayovac batteries.
