12v Fluorescent for an odd project?

For a flashlight project? ..I'd have to agree on that being "odd".


You do realize that the host would likely need to be the size of a stick of baloney, right?

..I'm cracking up just thinking about that!

Not really, a mag body will work and a 3"+ dia. head isn't any bigger than some of the incan mods. The head would be longer though.

Hey it's just a thought. Who wants to own one that everyone else owns? Status quo? Not me. I like bieng odd.

There's a GU-10 based fluorescent bulb at one of the home improvement stores around here. Lowes, Home Depot, it all blurs together. The thing already has a reflector though, and it's also designed to run on 12v. Picture a MR16 bulb, but with a tiny fluorescent tube. Probably not very bright though.
