Where to find nice bulbs? (PR)

I have a regular old 3D maglite that I once ran
some sort of special 2 amp "rechargable battery
only" bulb in. Now I can't seem to find anything
close to that power in a PR style bulb.

Can anybody point me to a bulb site?

(I know, the maglite is old, and tired, but I
hate to see it just collecting dust in the corner,
and at about 6-watts, it really wasn't that bad
a light at all.)

Thanks, and I LOVE this forum. I thought I was
the only one that liked things that blinked so
much.

I only have a minute to post this, so sorry for the lack of specifics . . .

Radio Shack has some nice bulbs if you need a fix right away

Carley sells high end replacement bulbs

so does Welch Allyn.

Some people make Luxeon Star mods for the Mag.

There is a constant discussion here on how good/bad the Mag light is!

Great product, well built, solid as a tank, but crappy light.

I appreciate the info. I've seen comments about Carley, and even found their web site, but it looked geared to OEM's and distributors. Welch Allyn is new to me. Will look for some sites for those...

No argument on the beam quality being lousy, but it was my first "real" flashlight, bought about 20 years ago when I was a teenager. Sentimental attachment to a light? (Plus it does make a halfway decent hammer, or emergency side window opener. Can't say that about man LED lights.)

so I was going to hammer ya until I saw "(Arc AAA on order!!!)" you'll enjoy it.

Now, to make this on topic...

I have the packaging from a bulb like you're describing. It's a
Krypton Star" by Carley lamps. Old though so...

I just ordered a few pr zenon stars for my 3d mag from Carley. What a nice experience. I spoke with Patty and she helped me order my stuff.
You need to call and place an order. I hunted around quite a while for an order page and there isn't one.
A great vendor. I look forward to ordering from them again.

Indeed the Arc LE surpasses all the hoopla. I just got a cmg ultra g and it is about the same light as the LE, to my weary eyes. The CMG is impressive BUT the LE is awesome.
