Hi Guys,

Up for sale are 2 unit of brand new SUREFIRE L6, custom build with an Ostar emitter in each host. One of them has a twist tailcap for constant on, press for momentary on, while the other (on the right) feature a clicky ON/OFF switch .

While utilizing these high powered led, it is recommended to run the highest setting on momentary only / short burst (less than 2 mins) to keep the driver cool and maintain battery longevity. As the current drain on 3 x RCR123 at highest setting can be high as voltage sag. But at medium output, its not an issue.

Please note that there is a very small nick of anodized discolored on (left picture unit) between the head and the finned. This is exactly how it was received brand new. However, its not a nick or dent.

SPECIFICATIONS:

- Brand new SUREFIRE L6
- Blue Shark with Remora
- Custom anodized aluminum heat-sink
- 15W Osram Ostar (QY bin)
- run on 3 x RCR123
- ( 3 mode at Low , Medium , High (Momentary / Burst mode)
- Come with original box / lanyard / 3 x SF battery

(Pictured lanyard not included) :D

- *** ALL SOLD ***

Yes, I'd be interested in this information as well.

Also, can the light also be powered by 2xLiON cells?

Thanks and great job!

Re: FS: 15W Ostar Surefire L6

Hi pauls,

Since I do not have a lux meter, I would not be able to measure the output in term of lumens. However, at the highest mode, the Ostar is putting out 15W of power which is more than a 1000 lumens from this reasonable small light. That is also why momentary use is recommended when running at the highest setting. Partly because running on 3 x RCR123 yield massive heat
from the driver while it is boosting up the voltage different to power up the Ostar. And significantly, 4 li-ions would be better while 5 even best.

For medium mode and below, its a breeze. While running a setup of 3 x RCR123 of 1000mAh capacity per cell. Run time was 40 min and more with the host warm and still comfortable to hold that is when I turn it off. So at the lowest setting, its not worth mentioning. Current draw from the battery were between 0.52A ~ 0.67A on medium as the 3 x li-ions sag along the way.( just in case you wondering )

On this mod, the entire light engine was rebuild from 6061 aluminium, and the Shark Driver is properly sink with an additional copper heat-sink with in this light engine itself. Being robust, it still maintain the functionality of your favorite SUREFIRE lego ;)

Here is just an example on one of the many small detail work on similar driver.

Many hours were put into making this light. I'm sure it would pleased.

I would be interested in the head only as well if you sell them that way. I have 3x18650 tubes from leef that would work real cool with these.
