I know this light has been discussed on here alot and I have looked at most of the posts but I still can't find anything on how many times the line has been changed and what the newest version might be. Does any one have a list of the different versions or upgrades over the past couple of years. It looks like a well built light. I am thinking about adding it to my already too large collection and I guess I just need a push.

The old generation has a LUXEON III while the new one uses LUXEON K2.
I have 2 2007 XO3s with reflectors but I ended up selling them...
I like BY FAR the old version with TIROS which has a nicer beam , although it's not so useful . I plan to buy a backup for my XO3 with optics...However the old generation throws better than the other one .

Inova X03 is a sweet light , especially the natural colour one.
But , is it worth to get a light with LUXEON III when the market is flooded by the CREE Q5 or R2 lights ??? 5-6 times brighter ?

So your saying that the one with the TIROS lens throws better, I kind of thought that, the only ones still in the stores seem to be the ones with the reflectors. Any idea whereto get the old style?

Well, if you don't need a new one you could watch CPFmarketplace, from time to time an X03 TIROS appears there. Usually around 30$...
E-bay can be also a place when the old ones can appear from time to time...used or new !
Otherwise the NIB ones are more expensive :

There are many places that still have the old TIROS.

An advice : you'd better ask them before to confirm that they have the old version.
I happened to order last year a TIROS and I got worry as I didn't get it...after a few days I got a return check for my order as they had the newest version, not the old one. I don't remember the store....but give them a phone call before !

Let me know when you'll get it and how will you like it
