Battery extension thread.

Several people asked for me to produce single-cell 123 and AA battery extensions to fit on their SF E-series lights, and so I went and looked into doing this. I can do it no problem, so I am opening it up for everyone who wants this part. It fits on the E-series lights and the UBH, to give you one more battery/cell to drive your bulb or Luxeon.

The prices are as follows:
123 extender - $20 each, in HA3 natural.
AA extender - $21 each, in HA3 natural.

Shipping is $4 extra for up to 8 parts total, and you can mix/match parts.

If you want these in brass, they will be $23 and $24 respectively. The $4.00 shipping is for up to 5 units of either/both.

All prices in $US.


They will be lightly knurled for grip, similar to the UBH.

The pre-ordering wil be open until next Wednesday (May 29th), then I will send in the order to be machined.

How would you use an AA extender? Do you mean it lets you put two AA's into the E2? Or ... ?

Oh, by the way, you already have my pre-order for (6) 1 x 123 cell extenders in HA. I'll have to think about the 1 x AA extenders. I should probably pick up a couple of those.

Paulr, the AA extender is better on the UBH, where you can use 3 AAs to drive your KL1 (or KL3 with E2C). This will extend your runtime.

Hmm, can I put two AA's in an E2+123 extender? That might be ok for running a KL1.

I don't even have a Surefire but feel like I ought to get an extender while they're available. Putting a P91 lamp in an extended E2 with bezel mod is just too cool...

2AAs run a KL1 quite well...

And if the addition of the 123 extender equals the length of the UBH (which I think it will), then you can definately run 2AAs off of the extender and the E2x body (albeit you might want a spacer to prevent excess battery rattle...

I just emailed Doug to learn about how those will be looking on the different bodies and how he managed the "fit" to the UBH, E2, E2e bodies - I think the E2e might be looking worse at least until the clip is removed.

Regarding the "AA" extender I **guess** its more an "A" extender - right? - which means it has 17mm ID too.

I think another cool option when adding an AA/A extender to an E2/E2e body would be to be able to run 4 2/3A cells in there - giving you kind of an E2R or the E series equivalent to an G2R or 6R ....
