You guys have been asking for a AAA titanium flashlight for a good number of years. In fact, a thread gets started in the Arc forum from time to time (there's one there now in fact). I have wanted a Titanium AAA, but with the high cost, I didn't think they would sell very well.

The amount of times I have said "no" to this request, you would think I didn't like titanium. But I designed my wife and I's rings out of the same bar of 64 and the new Arc6 has a Ti bezel. Awesome material, very expensive to machine.

Don and I have talked about this from time to time. Recently he asked me if I would go in on a production run with him. This time I finally said yes.

This production lot is small (only ~125 units) and it meant to judge the demand for a light like this. Don will be assembling about 75 units with the 3mm DS led and I will be assembling about ~50 units with the DS and GS LED.

In the even that these do sell well, Arc has the option to manufacture the product as a regular production item. We might take the machining in house (we already machine another titanium part on our cnc machines).

I will step way out on this weak and very long limb and ask what the various designations mean ( Ti-DS, Ti-GS and the Ti-kit), in terms of how much light they produce and/or whatever their individual strengths are. Also, approximately how much the light would cost in its various incarnations. One thing I know for sure, and that is that I will be in for at least one, probably two of the three.

I hope some of my lights go out and get a job soon, so that they can support me. It's getting so that the other way 'round isn't working all that well.

Very elegant design. I like the rounded back. Glowing orings will be de-rigeur. Will they be easy to replace?

We'll see if I get to keep it, once my wife sees it
There is a type of perfection that transcends the quest for lumens. Buying a $250 1-cell light for "lum factor" is like buying a $250 single malt Scotch for the alcohol content.

Don, in your Wave Notification thread, you say that the Sapphires in your upcoming wave will be "bare bottom with no lanyard ring or lanyard". Does this mean the lights will be simply machined flat at the tail ends or will they look as pictured, and just be supplied without a split-ring?

I'm sure he means as pictured, but with no ring or lanyard.

Don, I'm IN, baby! Favorite material and favorite LED designed by my favorite love slave.

    Oops, I've said too much.

Just make sure you either hold one for me, or wake me up when you open the wave, please!

I'm all about little lights these days. I'm so tired of people asking, "...or are you just happy to see me?"

Well another gorgeous light by Don... looks like my Sunday has been taken from me.

Admittedly I am not too keen about the Arc driver pushing the LED so hard but after some consideration I will try my best to ride this wave.

This must be the year of the Ti-AAA, seeing as I should be getting my Makos around the same time as well!

Very classy looking light. Another light to look forward to.

With the price of just $150 and many commenting on wanting several, it may be fair to offer one per customer. This will allow more people the chance to land one, from this limited wave run.

A great way to kill two birds with one stone, an ARC, and a McGizmo.

This is a beautiful light. I love the flutes & the fact it has a window protecting the LED! Although it's probably not an issue with 3mm/5mm LEDs but this is one thing I didn't like about the Arc AAA & similar lights. Thank you for fullfilling the request for these!

Pretty sure it is 1 speed. The electronics is provided by Gransee, and he does not have 2 speed light engines at this time.
    Cheers from the McGizmo state.

Awesome looking light! There is so much pent up demand for these, that I bet the wave won't last 20 minutes.

One quick question, I am not too familiar with the Arc driver (blasphemy, I know, I know..) but can the Ti Sapphire AAA handle li-ions as well?

    About time, McGizmo

With any luck, I'll snag one for me & one for #1 Son. I knew my PayPal account wouldn't keep that balance for long.

I have to say I'm disappointed Don.

When I first read the title of the thread I was really looking forward to a mini piston drive. Finally a light for all the wee-small-fingered folk.

Kudos to steppin out of the CR123 ring for once. Is this the first? I can't think of any earlier lights, but then again

    Looks great!
