Hazardous weather

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTHEAST MINNESOTA AND
NORTHWEST WISCONSIN.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

SNOW WILL CONTINUE ACROSS THE BORDERLAND AND IRON RANGE AREAS
TODAY AND THIS EVENING AS A COLD FRONT PUSHES INTO THE FAR
NORTHERN PART OF THE REGION. ACCUMULATIONS OF 2 TO 6 INCHES ARE
POSSIBLE NORTH AND WEST OF A LONGVILLE TO ELY LINE...WHERE A
WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT THROUGH MIDNIGHT.

SOME FREEZING DRIZZLE IS POSSIBLE TODAY AND TONIGHT ACROSS MOST
OF THE NORTHLAND. ALTHOUGH ACCUMULATIONS ARE NOT EXPECTED TO BE
SIGNIFICANT...SOME ICY PATCHES MAY DEVELOP ON UNTREATED ROADS.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY

A MAJOR WINTER STORM SYSTEM WILL MOVE FROM THE PLAINS INTO THE
GREAT LAKES TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY.

THE SNOW MAY BE MIXED WITH FREEZING DRIZZLE INITIALLY TUESDAY
MORNING...BUT WILL QUICKLY TRANSFORM INTO VERY HEAVY...AND
WIDESPREAD...SNOWFALL BY TUESDAY AFTERNOON. THIS SYSTEM HAS THE
POTENTIAL TO PRODUCE A SIGNIFICANT IMPACT ON RESIDENTS OF THE
NORTHLAND. THE COMBINATION OF HEAVY SNOW AND STRONG WINDS MAY
RESULT IN PERIODS OF BLIZZARD-LIKE CONDITIONS. TRAVEL MAY BECOME
DIFFICULT TO IMPOSSIBLE BY LATE TUESDAY AND TUESDAY NIGHT.

Any one want to visit?

Tonight: Areas of snow and freezing drizzle before 1am, then snow likely. Cloudy, with a low around 21. East wind between 5 and 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. Little or no ice accumulation expected. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

You have my sympathies. It sure seems dead here. We've had three days of sun, 80 degrees, t-shirts, and shorts. I even cut the grass on Saturday. Even Home Depot is starting to sell tomato plants.

Yeah - I wish it would only be winter when snowing..

After it's done snowing, have the temp at least be 45-50 degrees F! If snow has to come again, THEN the temp should go back down and snow some more. Then go back up when done.

At least then I could go for a nice walk every once in a while!!! :mecry:

Not this constant swinging from 20F - 40F for many days without at least SNOWING! :green:

But then - we would have entered: The Twilight Zone(tm).
Heh.. Now that I think about it, the twilight zone may not be so bad afterall - apart from them melting walls and sudden falls when the floor seems to disappear.

It's definitely not dead. I live in the SF Bay Area (CA) and there was frost on my car windows. It's starting to get sunny, but the cold, dry air doesn't help.

Not the same intensity as was mentioned by the OP, but it's a good indication we'll have a bit more cold weather to come.

I think it should be winter with plenty of snow from about December 15th until January 15th. Just cold and snowy to add to the holiday atmosphere. Then I'm done with it. Bring on the warm weather. I miss the color green!

Bleh...we just got hit with the storm down here in the Cities today. Was starting to look like everything was melting off, and then we get this. Can't wait for those 40 degree days that are supposed to come next week.

Screw this.

West TN has been warm the past two or three days.

I wake up at 5:30 to go to work this morning and I'm freezing.

Your next post better be how winter has shriveled up and died.
