Review in progress..

The review of the ACE-G, and A10-G will be very similar..as they both have almost exactly the same shape, but different emitters.
They will use the same outdoor beamshots..

The ACE-G review can be found here.

Hello Everyone, this will be my 3rd review. Wish me luck!

Up for review is a Tiablo A10-G!
You will be able to preorder the A10G from 4sevens, here.

For those of you that haven't heard of this light.. Here's a quick summary of light:

  • CREE WC R2 LED Driven @ 1A
  • Max Output of 260 Lumens
  • Supports 2 battery sizes: two 3.0V CR123A batteries or one 18650 Li-ion battery
  • Switch: Clicky switch (spare tactical forward clicky switch included in packaging) (the light came to me with the forward clicky preinstalled)
  • Toughened ultra clear glass lens with AR coating
  • Tailcap Lockout

More information can be found in the threads linked below.

Light provided directly by Tiablo.

Background:
The Tiablo A10-G, released on the 4/2/09 here, is an upgrade of the previous version, released 12/4/08 here.

This flashlight is built as a thrower. Simple as that. It is made to throw as far as physically possible, while still having a reasonable size, even though the head is rather large. This "G" version is smaller than the original A10, as the brass battery sleeve has been removed (Sorry, I do not have the original version to compare). This light is made for use in universal gun mounts, having a standard 1" barrel. (according to Tiablo, the remote pressure switch will be made available in May).

Packaging pics:

The box is packaged in a paper sleeve with Tiablo's logo.

A10 Logo on box.. strange, the box makes no reference to the "G" line

Accessories:

Standard 1 page instruction manual, at least this one says A10G. The box also includes lanyard, warranty card(though mine is blank), 3 orings of varying size, a GITD tailcap, and a digital switch.

Please note: I have done a bunch of updated outdoor beamshots in this thread here.

Initial impressions:
Opening the box, I find a light with flawless finishing, clear, crisp lettering, This light is big and hefty.
The light is nice as easy to grip, the knurling on the battery tube is awesome!.. But I would have liked a slightly longer battery tube.
This light is Solid… Tiablo didn't skimp out on materials here. ;)

The beam is very ringy, having a SMO reflector for throw, though, I doubt the rings will be noticeable when spotting distant objects..

The threads on this light came rather dry to me.. oh well, nothing a bit of no-ox-id or silicone oil can't fix.

All in all, I can't find myself carrying this on me often.... although.. it does somewhat it in my pocket

Now it just needs to get dark quick! :sick2:

Concluding Thoughts:

Hmm.. this light is very nicely built and all.. but I think I'll be sticking with my A9 w/aspheric for now.

then again.. that knurling IS very very nice....
decisions.. decisions..

but.. if an aspheric for the A10G comes out.. that'll be a beast!. the huge head will allow for a much bigger lens... o_O
Post any requests!!

Come on guys! Comments are needed, as I develop my review style.

Re: Tiablo A10-G Review (unboxing pics, soon to follow after dark)

Requests attempted to be granted!

my other lights are currently with another friend.. he'll return them ~10PM.. 100-300 yards? hmm.. gotta find the distance.. that might be hard :p

edit: outdoor beamshots added..

I can't really get a 100-300 yard shot.. don't think the lights will be that visible at that point.

A few requests.......hey, you asked!

Long range distance beamshots compared to your RX-1 @ 100yards and 300 yards.

Ceiling bounce comparison: If you don't have a lux meter to give us values.....just tell us which one is brighter by eye.

Compare both lights side by side so we can see size differences.

Thanks!!:popcorn::popcorn:

Hey ryan, I think the beamshots give you a pretty good idea of general brightness :)

also, I think it's the ACE-G that you're looking to compare with the RX-1

Nice review, csshih. The beamshot comparisons are very good (the poor Nitecore D20 was a bit outgunned there, lol.)

I'm moving it to the Reviews section.

Thank you very much for taking the time to post this review. I enjoyed those most recent beamshots but all the picture were great. Overall I like the light and the aggressive grip texture. I don't care for the simple machining indentations around the perimeter of the head as I think it induces a slight bit of cheesiness to an otherwise robust looking light. That said, I consider this minor to all the other nice things the light has going for it.

This light would really be a killer with aspherical lens...

For now I stick to Tiablo A9 with aspheric lens...

Probably tiablo waits to sell 500 000 this flashlights and then will invent coolimator head for it because 30 - 40% of this 500 000 people would surely like to buy coolimator head for it...

So they would have some profit...
