Yes,
I finally made my first step into the quad die led world....
I ordered a M-bin MCE from KD and decided to put it in my trusty 2 stage Eastward YJ. I've loved this light since the day I got it, this brings it on par again...
Here's some pics to get you guys enthousiastic, and hopefully make you guys pick up a soldering iron yourself.
What the end result looks like from the outside:
The driver ensemble... 2x 1400mA 7135 drivers from KD sandwiched parallel on top of eachother to bring the MCE to life:
I bad picture from the bright side of the led module, the star screwd to the heatsink with some fujik cooling paste inbetween:
And a beamshot next to a Lumapower Lumahunter M1 (Lumapower on the left, Eastward YJ on the right)
And the Eastward on its lower setting (it's resistored, so I might need to change that to a higher value as this is still kinda bright with the MCE in there) (grmbl... I need to redo the beamshots with same arpeture and shutterspeed...):
Hope you guys like it!
Thanks everyone @ CPF for the inspiration and knowledge I needed to get this done!
