Is there a way to use TerraLUX TLE-300M LED on a 2-C Maglite modified with 3, Cr 123 batteries?

You'd just have to machine a battery holder for the batteries, and the runtime would be pretty short, but otherwise yes.

The 2D/6AA option is a lot more pragmatic, that's the setup I use with my TLE-300. Battery holders are only two bucks (http://kaidomain.com/ProductDetails.aspx?ProductId=2723) and you can use regular NiMHs for guilt-free lumens.

Actually the base of the dropin doesn't fit in a C tube.

The best bet for the original poster is run the risk of having the base turned so that it can fit in a C tube and hope there are no electronics in there.

I have the TLE-300 and a 2c MAG. It won't fit. The drop-in doesn't reach all the way down in. I am using the TLE-300 in a 2d mag with 4 cr123's with a shortened spring. Very bright. Don't really know about the runtime.
