Problem with Nitecore Ex10 GDP

I just got this light (used) but it will not turn off completely with the head screwed down. It flickers at very low light level, until I unscrew the head about a half a turn. I have widened the gap of the switch ring, cleaned the contacts tried with different battery brands all to no avail. Anyone have any other suggestions? I really like the light if I could get it working correctly.

Check to see that there is not something blocking the piston from sitting properly in the body, and that the spring is properly seated.
