Just Built it!

Smooth 1d Maglite (smooth section from a 4d)
Tailcap clickie
Glass lens uncoated (will also include plastic)
Lightly peeled oem reflector
Custom mc-e heatsink
Warm MC-E

The tailcap was made with some mag switch parts and can be serviceable.
There is a sleeve pushed in that will nicely fit 18650 cells. (this light is direct drive)
The head has been permanently fixed to the best focused beam.

*I will also include an extra bezel that I de-anodized and brushed on a lathe
(basically a raw al bezel brushed)

Is the sleeve for the 18650 removable? I'd like to use a mdocod 3AA to 1D adaptor or 2 x CR123 in this.

And will you ship internationally?

Yes the sleeve can be pulled out, and as long as the adapter is the size of a 18650, it should work..

Sure I will ship internationally but the price may be more, and depending where- insurance may not be available

Nice mod & at an awsome price too!
Agreed, on both points.

Even accounting for the tailcap and spring, the body looks longer than 1D. Is there extra length being taken up by something, or are my eyes deceiving me? And is the head fixed, or is it focusable?

I'd love to see a similar mod converting a 6D to a 3C.

Thanks!
Its a little deceiving- I guess because of the smoothness. If I stand it next to a 1d cut by Mr Hernandez its actually about 1/2" shorter. The head is fixed.

Speaking of a 6d that runs on 3c cells, heres one (p7) made from a 6D that runs on 2x18650s (I painted it in duracoat coyote brown)

That's what I was curious about. It looks to be about the same length as one of Jesus' or FM's 1Ds, but those still have the side switch in place. Are you still using the remainder of the side switch as the positive contact?

I cut the switch in half then cut a new groove in the tube and use the internal C clip to hold it
