* Fraudulent Credit Card Activity for People Who Purchased From Batteries.com: You may have received a letter in the mail from Batteries.com recently, apologizing for a security breach which resulted in some customers' credit cards being stolen. If you ever ordered from them, even a long time ago, you may want to check your credit card statements very carefully for unknown charges over the last 4 weeks. On our credit cards, we noticed fraudulent charges from iTunes and airline ticket purchases, all online purchases. If you do notice such activity on your credit card statement, call your credit card company to dispute the charges and request a new credit card.

You will not be responsible for the fraudulent charges on your account, but you must notify your credit card company to avoid paying for charges that are not yours.

On the positive side of this, Batteries.com is giving free credit report monitoring to all their customers who may be affected by this security breach. Check your mail for details on signing up for the credit monitoring. If you did not receive a letter from Batteries.com, it is likely your credit card information was not stolen.
