Where to find strong lenses?

I need some lenses for a dive light, diameter needs to be 59.5mm and given the pressure they will be subjected to, they need to be strong. Anybody know a good supplier?

It would be nice to get some off the shelf parts, but I don't know how much luck I'll have finding them in that size, so I may have to get them made up. Is this expensive?

I get my polycarbonate lenses cut by a local laser cutting shop.

They end up costing me 60 cents per lens. Of course there is a $60 minimum order so I get a bunch of other stuff cut at the same time.

The 2mm polycarbonate is pretty strong, but you may want to go thicker for diving.

Sometime this month I'll be getting some other things cut if you want me to get one made for you. It would probably fit in a normal envelope for posting.

Contact the diving light company for replacement lens.

You may want to check what sub forum this is in. :nana:

I use acrylic. 50mm diameter 3mm thick. Been down to 57 meters with out issue.
Cost was a couple of $ each from local plastics place. I got 10 or so made with the intention that if it gets scratched just swap it out. Havent had to do that yet.

So I am guessing that the stock lens that OP uses are not sufficient for really deep use. Yeah, I know, Custom and Modded. :D
