To be honest, I don't know how you get the rubber switch cover out for the tail. It seems like it is in there good.

How do you get the rubber switch boot cover out if it needs to be changed?

Remove the switch and pull the boot off.
As I mentioned earlier, since it's tight in there, reinstalling needs some patiency and using some pick (not sharp) will help.
Groove machined on tail cap is deeper because boot has larger lip so you need to make sure lip is entirerly and evenly inside groove. This won't be possible unless you check and inspect from inside of tail cap with removed switch.

It looks as if there is a little machined inset that the boot lip sets into.

I'm guessing it installs/ removes easier from the outside?

Original C li-ion fit in 1x26500 C head easily with soft start or McClicky.
2 original C li-ion fit in 2x26500 C head very tight and function fine with soft start or McClicky.
And same thing for DX protected "C" cells.

Any suggestions from anyone for non turbo heads which would be a bit larger than a C2/P6 head than would fit /suit? Thinking I'd like to try my Nailbender P7 (on it's way) in a 1x26500, but would need a new head to put it in...

With a stock D26 Head, I thinks it looks a little strange with that lil head.



So I installed a Cabelas / GP mini turbo head with a Lumens factory HO-R5. And I think it looks a lot better.

A M3 head will not fit without a C to M adapter. You could find one of the older M2 heads, the type that is finned at the bottom. They are closer in size to the M3.

The D36 you just ordered won't fit a Cabelas Turbo head but I do have a few modules that will fit.

it was a D26 for a C2 but yes I was thinking of being able to put it in a larger D26 compatible head to go on a FM 1x26500. Or getting a bigger head and ordering a D36 dropin from you.

I honestly don't believe it would. They are larger but they do not have much more material mass than the C2.

Nailbender is selling a nice little finned black head for the C/ P bodies that looks to be fatter than a normal 6P head for a good price. This head should help to cool more than the M3 and C2. It looks very similar to a Solarforce A001 head. Look through his For Sale threads and he has some pictures of them.

I think this head would look okay on the fatter/ wider 26500 bodies.

I will try to get a picture tonight of my old style M2 head on one of these bodies so you can see the size difference.

I own a couple of the newer M2 bezels but I forgot how big they were (they are both put away out of every day view).

That is another good option for the 26500 bodies. They look more at home on them compared to a smaller 6P head plus they have a lot more material mass for cooling.

I'll take a look on Dave's (Nailbender) sale threads re the finned head. I like the idea of a finned head and like the look of the setup as per his post a couple of posts back although that head's (I'm guessing it's FM?) a bit larger than I'm looking for. In addition to looking like it cost a fortune!

I like the new M2 head but would there be some light loss from the deep-setting of the dropin in the bezel? Vignetting I mean... Modoo's triple R2 drop-in in there seems ok perhaps because of the lenses and peripheral arrangement of the emitters, but a P7 in the centre...

Maybe that doesn't matter too much overall...

Mine actually rests on the tail cap which is not as heavily knurled. I just ahve a med. hand and it is very comfortable and it makes heat almost a non factor as it really wicks it away.
