I use photobucket. it is pretty simple and good for someone like me, who only needs something so they can post photos up on warez-bb and CPF.![]()
single pics (1-9) www.imageshack.us
why?
easy, assuming you have appropriate ad-blocker software installed
resizing capability
thumbnail mode selectable
hotlink mode selectable
Only need to generate picture links, temporary storage
Multiple pics (10+) www.photobucket.com
why?
Album categorizing
resizing capability
thumbnail mode selectable
hotlink mode selectable
Permanent storage
Multiple pics (20-80) http://www.imagevenue.com
why?
Ideal for NSFW, imageshack and photobucket will ban you if you put porn on their servers
easily host and post a gallery to forums [for my life away from CPF]
Ahh, thank you. ive gone through a few photobucket acounts with that. (was not even what you would call porn, more like "day at the beach with girl friend") Now i have a pr0n backup! Noooo, just kidding! xD anyway, to be back on topic, i think image shack is the most popular, followed closly with photobucket.

I use photobucket for CPF and Flickr for my Photography work. Check it out on my signature.

photobucket for all my reviews. simple, and very easy to use.
I use imageshack. Photobucket just loads too slooooooooooow for me.
good old imageshack
- firefox toolbar > just drag and drop fotos to upload
- easy, fast, all links you need generated
& much more
UltraFire WF-606A Q5-WC, AKOray K-106, Solarforce L2BF-R2M-18650, Tank007 TK-703, iTP A3 EOS+, UFltraFire WF-504B, X2000, SF L2 Mini = 8 and counting
I use Google's and it integrates quite nicely with their desk top application Picasa It's not a very powerful editing tool but handles the management of images well. Clicking on the "I'm feeling lucky" button can be fun at times and you can undo it.
I use Imageshack.
No need to create an account, and the pictures that are hosted last a lot longer than the ones hosted on Photobucket.

I use Imageshack.

Photobucket. All the posts and reviews I have done here us it. I paid for an account which gives me lots more options, and content protection. For me it is much faster & cleaner than Imageshack which I used years ago.
For hosting download files, I prefer www.box.net which has pretty generous free account capabilities.
I've never understood that comment.
I've been using photbucket for several years - all my photos are still there.
Personally, I tend to avoid looking at images hosted on imageshack as they don't always display properly (seems they finally fixed that bug after many months) or a popup comes along with them.
I think he's referring to those situations where you're reading along in an important thread. Then, just when the author gets to the good part, they say "in the photo below", which has been replaced with a "not available" stamp. Usually, its a few years later and the photo account holder has moved or removed a set of pictures, probably without realizing it.
There's a lot of posts where the image from Imageshack doesn't display at all, or displays improperly--separate from the "Not Available" box. I know even recently a series of images from JimmyM went to the shack, but you then had to click on the image there manually again to get it to display. I'm not crazy about the shack.

Photobucket.
Always used Photobucket but now that I've got a Blackberry I have started using Flickr because I have an app that uploads them directly to my Flickr account.
There's several URL links to the image for different purposes. I use the Hotlink for forums (1) URL and it displays the full size image in the post. Just copy the link and paste it into your post. Note the Hotlink for forums (1) URL is towards the bottom of the page at Imageshack.
When full size is inappropriate, I post a thumbnail link to the image. I've noticed you do have to click on it again at imageshack to see the full size with those.

Thanks everyone. I wound up setting up a Flickr account. We'll see how it goes...
This is too funny. I'm looking at some photos hosted on Image Shack, and they have been hacked. Particularly this thread:

For posterity, I captured screenshot:

I like and use Photobucket. It is simple. I have been very happy with them.

Glad this came up. I've long wanted an anonymous place to put photo's. Now that Compuserve is gone I don't have a generic link. That said, having your own domain and hosting are reasonable. You don't even need a web page, just have it host photo's.
I forget the domain fees, monthly hosting is ~$4.95, basically for a year it is about $80 for me. Certainly gives you a lot of control.

Photobucket....
it automatically resizes your photos to CPF regulation size..
Crenshaw
photobucket for low quality pics for forum use etc. why? because the ads there are just banners, not popups like on imageshack.
For high res. images I use my own hosting account.
